🇦🇿 Azerbaijan: Nadir Gives First Live Performance of "Fade to Black" – Eurovoix

Nadir Rustamli has performed “Fade to Black”, his entry for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, live for the first time.
Today in an interview with 12 Xal Nadir Rustamli gave his first live performance of “Fade to Black”, the song that she will take to the Eurovision Song Contest for Azerbaijan. The singer performed an acoustic version of the song which you can watch below:
Nadir Rustamli will sing his song “Fade to Black” in 4th position in the second semi-final on 12th May.
Nadir Rashid oghlu Rustamli was born on 8th July 1999 in Salyan, Azerbaijan. At a young age, Nadir practiced the piano at the Gulu Asgarov Music School. In 2017, he began singing in numerous contests, including Youthvision 2019, where he finished second. In 2022, he won The Voice of Azerbaijan under Eldar Gasimov’s mentorship.
On February 16th 2022, Nadir found out he was selected as the Azerbaijani Eurovision 2022 representative live on morning television. His song “Fade to Black” was written and composed by Thomas Stengaard and Andreas Stone Johansson.

Azerbaijan debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, they were represented by Elnur & Samir with the song “Day After Day”, they finished 8th in the final. In 2011 Azerbaijan won the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Ell & Nikki and their song “Running Scared”. The song scored a total of 221 points, receiving only three sets of 12 points from Malta, Russia and Turkey. In 2018 Azerbaijan failed to qualify for the final for the first time, having previously had a 100% qualification record.
I have been following the Eurovision Song Contest since 2006, and more recently I’ve enjoyed watching partner contests such as the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and Eurovision Young Dancers. I joined Eurovoix as an editor at the beginning of 2017.
